We designed a training program to teach novice drivers the advanced cognitive skills needed for defensive driving. These skills include proper scanning, attention maintenance, speed management in different conditions, hazard detection anticipation, and quick evaluation of possible safe driving maneuvers.

Terrific experience; I put off learning to drive for much too long, but I passed my road test on the first try after 10 or so hours of instruction with Mr. Ish. Would highly recommend to other adult learners.
DC Star Driving School is a great driving school in D.C. I would recommend Mr.Teddy to beginner drivers. He is very professional and helpful. He taught me how to parallel park and other road rules to feel confident when driving. I passed my road test on the first try with a 91%. I'm very grateful for the learning experience.
This New Yorker FINALLY got her driver's license at 35! After failing a few times before, DC Star Driving School gave me the skills and confidence to pass my the road test. I'm so thankful that I took lessons with DC Star. As others have mentioned, the instructors are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had zero driving experience, and Mr. Ish did a phenomenal job teaching me everything I needed to successfully pass the road test, as well as provided great strategies for safe, defensive city-driving. On the day of my exam, Mr. Teddy excellently refreshed me on what I needed to know for the test. With all the great information I obtained from Mr. Ish & Mr. Teddy, I scored a 93% on the driver's assessment! Yay! I would highly recommend this school for anyone looking to learn or enhance their road skills.
